"It was her maiden litter and she produced 9 bitches!" Cindy Stangroom
Showing Pointers
It was the Stangroom’s first Pointer Annie that got them involved in showing, and impressively, she qualified for Crufts in her first year, however, Annie adored working more than showing and therefore Pointer Ruby was acquired. “Ruby has been such a loyal servant to us,” commented Cindy. “She gained her Bronze Good Citizen at just 19-weeks-old, followed by her Silver and Gold in one evening as just one-year-old. We became so hooked on our new hobby that we took on another pointer Splash, who also successfully achieved her Bronze and Silver Good Citizen awards.” The Stangroom’s bred their first Pointer litters from Ruby and Splash and decided to keep a dog and a bitch from Ruby’s litter, Jaffa and Tiffany. “Jaffa has done us proud in the ring,” said a beaming Cindy. “He’s consistently been placed at Championship level gaining his Studbook number with an RCC in 2010 and also his Sh CM. Tiffany has also gained numerous Championship Show placings and Best of Breeds at Open Level.” “Last July, our latest Pointer Luci joined the family,” continued Cindy. “She has steadily proved herself in the show ring gaining Eight Best Puppy in Breed, three Gun Puppy Group 1’s and a Best Puppy in Show. She recently attained her Gold Good Citizen award and her stud book number at Gun Dog of Wales Championship Show. So now all our dogs have their Good Citizen Awards.” Five of the Stangroom's six Pointers have qualified for Crufts 2016 and they also hope to breed another littler next year. On top of all the showing, Brian and Cindy also take Ruby to visit a nursing home where Brian's mother resides. Furthermore, they are members of both The Pointer Club and Southern Pointer Club of which they serve on the committee. And, they also keep in close contact with their puppy owners and advise on the well-being of all their stock, including recommending feeding a high-quality diet such as Happy Dog.The Stangroom’s feed their Pointers on Happy Dog
“I met the Happy Dog Team at a championship over four-years-ago and I've been feeding the food ever since,” Cindy commented.” I find the dogs cope remarkably well with it, their digestion is always good, there’s minimal faeces and they've never turned noses up at it.” “I would always recommend Happy Dog because I have first-hand evidence of how well my own dogs do on the food. Furthermore, I always receive a great service and the next day delivery if a massive bonus,” she concluded.
